Our recommended Bike & Wine experience combines a scenic morning e-bike ride with a hosted Queenstown wine tour in the afternoon for a full day of adventure, spectacular scenery and Wine Hopper fun.

Your day begins with a scenic 10am journey from Queenstown to historic Arrowtown. After your e-bike fitting, helmet, safety briefing and trail map, set off on your self-guided ride towards Gibbston Valley.

Enjoy approximately 15km of riding at your own pace, crossing spectacular bridges, following rivers and taking in the mountain scenery along the way.

Then comes the Wine Hopper difference.

Bike first, wine later. Once your cycling adventure is complete, you'll meet your local qualified Wine Guide in Gibbston Valley, leave the bikes behind and continue your afternoon comfortably by Wine Hopper vehicle.

From here, relax and let us look after you. Your Wine Guide will help personalise your afternoon, giving you the freedom to choose the wineries and experiences that interest you. There is no rigid winery timetable and you don't have to do what everyone else does. Enjoy boutique cellar doors, local wine, food, craft beer, gin and more along the way.

Your Wine Guide is there throughout the afternoon to help you make the most of your time, share local knowledge and take care of the driving.

WHY WE RECOMMEND THE E-BIKE

Because it's FUN! The approximately 15km ride towards Gibbston Valley includes undulating terrain and hills along the way. A little extra pedal power lets you cruise when you want to, tackle the hills with a smile and enjoy the spectacular scenery.

E-bikes also make it easier for everyone to enjoy the ride together. Different riding speeds matter a whole lot less, so you can relax, stay together and enjoy the journey with the people you're sharing your day with.

And yes, we recommend e-bikes even for fit, confident riders! It's not about whether you can ride the trail on a standard bike. It's about making a fabulous day even more enjoyable. If you're unsure which bike to choose, we recommend the E-Bike. No one has ever regretted a little extra pedal power!

GOOD TO KNOW

Wine tastings, food, lunch and other drinks are not included in your tour price and are purchased directly at the venues you choose to visit. This gives you the freedom to choose what you would like to enjoy and spend along the way.

You still need to be comfortable and confident riding a bicycle. Your e-bike provides pedal assistance, but you are responsible for safely controlling and riding your bike.

The E-Bike & Wine Tour operates seasonally and is not available during the New Zealand winter months of June, July and August. With cold temperatures, icy trails and changeable winter conditions, we pause our bike tours during these months for the safety and comfort of our guests.
